The Classic Stain-Forgiving Kitchen Trouser
Chef trousers are checked for a practical reason, not just tradition: a busy houndstooth or check pattern hides the splashes, spills and scorch marks a kitchen shift leaves, so the trouser looks presentable far longer between washes than a plain dark trouser would. Wearzo makes it in a yarn-dyed poly-cotton, where the pattern is woven from pre-dyed yarn so it will not wash out. Straight or tapered leg, with or without pockets, to suit the station.
Yarn-Dyed Check Twill, 200–230 GSM
Yarn-dyed means the black and white (or coloured) yarns are dyed before weaving and then woven into the check, so the pattern runs right through the cloth and cannot fade or wash off the way a printed check would. The poly-cotton twill is hard-wearing and holds the pattern crisp through industrial laundry.

The classic is black-and-white houndstooth, with black, navy or grey checks as alternatives to match a brigade or a themed uniform. Some patterns are fabric-dependent and confirmed per order.
Waist & Leg Options
A kitchen trouser is worn for long hours on the feet, so comfort at the waist matters. An elastic waistband is the easiest to size across a brigade and to pull on quickly; a drawstring adds adjustability.

How are chef trousers sized?
Because the waist is elasticated, each size spans a small range, which keeps a brigade simple to size. We still produce to a size-wise breakdown so everyone is fitted rather than approximated.
